They say the truth hides in shadows. With Hostage, our upcoming crime thriller from Antigone Productions, we’re peeling those shadows back, frame by frame, cut by cut, to reveal a story of friendship, loyalty, and the brutal cost when trust becomes currency.
🎬 The Film: What Hostage Is About
Hostage follows three childhood friends, Roy, Ken, and Bob, who’ve grown up learning how to survive in the margins. What began as petty extortion and intimidation in grade school evolved into a life as fixers for a powerful organized crime syndicate. They dispose of problems for their boss without hesitation, loyal, precise, deadly. But when one job goes catastrophically wrong, when they kill a man they were ordered to keep alive, everything changes. Forced into a frantic cover-up, their bonds of brotherhood unravel under paranoia, betrayal, and bloodshed. In a world where trust is the rarest currency, every decision becomes deadly.
🛠️ The Team Behind the Darkness
John David Harris — Writer, Director, Producer. John’s uncompromising vision anchors the film in gritty realism and tense emotional stakes.
Romello Blade — Editor & Co-Producer. As the one sculpting the film’s rhythm, pace, and tension, I’ve been deep in the editing room, shaping raw footage into a visceral journey.
Demetre Ramos-Davis — Director of Photography. Demetre’s lens captured the world of Hostage, lighting its shadows and suspense, grounding each scene in atmosphere and emotion.
🔄 Post-Production: Where the Real Magic Happens
As of October 2025, Hostage is officially in post-production. This is where the film truly takes shape, from the rough cut to final color, sound design, and scoring. It’s where tension becomes visceral, and emotion becomes immersive.
I’m spending long nights refining every cut, every transition, every silence, making sure Hostage doesn’t just tell a story… but delivers an experience.
🌑 Why This Story Matters
In Hostage, we dive into moral ambiguity. We explore how childhood loyalties can extend into adulthood, and how innocence often dies when crime becomes business. It’s not black-and-white; it’s shades of gray painted in blood, fear, and desperation.
But beyond violence and betrayal, this film is about relationships, tested, broken, maybe redeemed. It’s a reflection of what happens when people you trust become enemies, and when survival means sacrificing the very soul that forged those bonds.
🔜 What’s Next: Festivals, Screenings, and the Road Ahead
With post-production underway, our plan is to submit Hostage to select film festivals, build buzz, and explore distribution options. Stay tuned: once the final cut locks, we’ll be ready to share the full experience, first with the festival circuit, then with a wider audience.
It stars Dalton Santos, Sam Franke, Derek Casper, Patrick Grimaldo, and George Maxey. The project is currently gearing up for an early 2026 release, aligning all production touchpoints for maximum visibility and strategic market impact.
